Joey was born into the egg industry and purchased as a hen to produce eggs for a family keeping chickens in their backyard, but once he got a little bigger they realized this little guy was actually a boy. In most cases, people send unwanted roosters to slaughter, but this family reached out to us because they wanted him to have a long and happy life and so today he spends his days at Sage Mountain where he’ll live out the rest of his life.
