Buttercup was found on the streets of LA with Wesley, the Bantam rooster. She was brought to a shelter when Farm Sanctuary rescued her. Shortly after, she was transported to Sage Mountain Sanctuary. She’s a Shamo, which is a breed of chickens who’re born without wings. She’s a gamefowl originally used for fighting. The only time she fights these days is when she lays eggs or when she feels like having the entire coop to herself.
